Even though Levain Bakery opened its first location on West 74th Street in 1995, it appears the place is currently having a bit of a renaissance. Here recently, I can't seem to go anywhere without seeing something about their cookies on food sites and Instagram posts. I hadn't ever been to the bakery before, so I decided to make the trek uptown.

After standing in a ten-minute line that went out the front door, I ordered the chocolate chip walnut cookie and it did not disappoint.
